Oat Milk Dalgona Coffee

Lauren (@piece.of.lulu on Instagram) shared this amazing, simple recipe for Dalgona Coffee that includes Willa’s Oat Milk.

What's Dalgona Coffee?

You may have seen Dalgona Coffee all over TikTok. When the pandemic hit, this drink became a staple of the home chef/barista alongside homemade bread. Dalgona coffee started going viral in South Korea, and is named for its resemblance to a popular Korean sugar sweet. However, other versions of this drink have been enjoyed around the world for a very long time, such as Frappe Coffee in Greece or Beaten Coffee in India. This recipe isn’t necessarily meant to substitute for your usual brewed coffee or espresso as there actually is not much caffeine. However, it’s a fun and easy substitute if you’ve been craving something creamy like a cappuccino, but don’t have barista tools at home.

This recipe is so easy to make at home and only requires a few ingredients. First, make sure you’re using instant coffee. This recipe also needs sugar to hold its whipped texture. However, most granulated sugar substitutes should work well. We also topped off this drink cinnamon, but you can add the toppings of your choice. Coffee powder or cocoa would work great too to add a bit of a bittersweet accent.

And last, but not least, Willa’s Oat Milk pairs perfectly with this coffee. You can enjoy Dalgona Coffee topped over hot Oat Milk or over a glass of iced Oat Milk. However you enjoy your Oat Milk, you can’t go wrong. Especially when you know that you’re drinking a whole grain oat milk with honest ingredients.

This recipe is easiest to make with an electric mixer. If you don’t have one, you can use a hand mixer, or a whisk, but it will likely take much longer to finish whipping.

Ingredients

2 tbsp sugar

2 tbsp water

2 tbsp instant coffee

Willa’s Oat Milk

Ice (optional)

Cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

-Place sugar, water, and instant coffee in a bowl. Use an electric mixer to whip this mixture for about 5 minutes or until you get a fluffy, whipped texture.

-Add Willa’s Oat Milk to a glass. It can either be hot or over ice. Scoop up the whipped coffee mixture and drop it over the Oat Milk.

-Sprinkle cinnamon or your topping of choice.
