Waffles without flour?
That is not a typo… there is no flour in this recipe! Yet these waffles are still fluffy and flavorful.
How you may ask? The oats act as a base that soaks up moisture from the oat milk and banana to provide a crisp exterior and fluffy texture. To ensure a crispy waffle, leave the batter to sit for a few minutes to allow the ingredients to soak before pouring into a waffle iron.
Whole grain oats are packed with lots of benefits which you can read all about on our blog post about 9 health benefits of oats. Making waffles with oats and oat milk should leave you feeling full and satisfied thanks to the fiber in whole grain oats that works to keep you full for longer!
More toppings = more fun
Waffles are not complete without toppings! In all seriousness, simple toppings are just as delicious. You can never go wrong with dairy-free butter and pure maple syrup. However, if you’re looking to spice up your morning, dare to try something a little unique! Amanda added granola, coconut flakes, strawberries, butter, and syrup. You can even add some of your favorite extras into the batter to bake right into the waffles!
