We got this Foamy Golden Milk recipe from Dan Buettner’s Blue Zones American Kitchen cookbook - a collection of recipes crafted for longevity and inspired by the centenarians across the Americas.

The Blue Zones are the parts of the world with the longest-living people. Whole grains are a key part of many of their diets (including whole grain oats!), as are spices. When combined, they deliver a delicious, aromatic one two punch!

Turmeric is one of our favorite spices for chilly winter days because of its rich flavor and anti-inflammatory properties, reducing oxidative stress on the body. 

Cozy, aromatic, stress reduction in a mug that takes seconds to make? Who could say no to that?!

Plus, by adding just a touch of black pepper, you enhance the anti-inflammatory properties of the turmeric even more.

Blue Zones Golden Oat Milk Latte

Ingredients

2 c Willa’s Oat Milk⁠
1 tsp turmeric powder⁠
1 tsp vanilla extract⁠
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon⁠
pinch of ground black pepper⁠
honey or agave (optional)

Instructions

1. In a small pot, heat all ingredients except for sweetener over low heat. Stir as needed.⁠
2. Use an electric frother or whisk to create a foamy consistency⁠
3. Remove from heat, pour into a mug, and enjoy!⁠
